The Queen's Young Leaders Programme was launched in July 2014 in honour of HM The Queen's 60 years of service to the Commonwealth. The programme aims to discover, celebrate and support young people across the Commonwealth. 120 young people had been Award Winners in 2015 and 2016. They travelled to London and received their Awards from the Queen. Three young Papua New Guineans have received Awards from Her Majesty in the last 2 years. They are John Taka, Christina Giwe and Sei...ni Fisi'ihoi-Rageau. 2017 Award Winners have been announced and two enterprising young Papua New Guineans are among the 60 winners from across the Commonwealth. Kundu London congratulates Theresa Gozoria and Johnetta Lili! Well done.

Theresa is founder of UniMums providing support for young mothers at the University of PNG.
Johnetta works to raise awareness of the rights of young people. She also worked at reducing violence against women and promotes gender equality. She co-founded the Carteret Campaign which is now The Climate Change Campaign.
