What is "wonga"

Wonga was the name of the property owned by one of the Port Moresby merchants (Mr. J. R. Clay). It was located at 5 mile. This later became the Australian Broadcasting (ABC) studios now occupied by the NBC - National Broadcasting Commission.

 

It was first used to broadcast radio signals in early 1942 during the second world war.

 

I hear there was an unofficial PNG Anthem before 1975. Is that true?
