Who is considered to be the first official opposition leader

Sir Michael Somare is considered to have become the first official opposition leader in 1968.  Somare became Chief Minister when self-government was granted in 1973, and was a key figure in the preparations for subsequent independence in 1975 and the preparation and adoption of the PNG Constitution.
