The kina (code: PGK) is the currency of Papua New Guinea. It is divided into 100 toea.

The coins that are in everyday use in PNG are

  • 5 toea
  • 10 toea
  • 20 toea
  • 50 toea
  • K1.00

There are other commemorative coins that are not in every day use.  For example there is a gold K100 coin.  In special minted coin sets you will also find a K5 and a K10 coin. There is even a gold K20 coin.

PNG used to have a 1 toea and a 2 toea coin but these were taken out of circulation in 2007.
