Who was Wilson Waesa?

Wilson Waesa was a pioneer national officer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He was from Awar village, Tolokiwa island, in the Siassi group of islands, Morobe province.  He first served the church as a nursing officer in the Lutheran Health department, before becoming health secretary. He then became the church’s first human resource director, serving until his retirement at the end of 2009. Waesa was credited with being the architect of the church’s human resource policy.

He died in September 2011
