When was Lae proclaimed capital of the territory of New Guinea?

On Saturday, August 23, 1941, the executive council of the administration met and the decision – delayed for almost 4 years – was made to move the seat of government from Rabaul to Lae.

Lae was proclaimed capital of the territory on September 1941.
