How does HF email work?

Email over HF Radio lllows you to stay in touch where there are no phone or communication services.

The radio data transfer works with software especially programmed for HF email called “UUPlus“. Once installed and set up you can send and receive email with any ordinary email program like Outlook Express etc.

Compared to today’s fast broadband connections radio signal connections are very slow. But the UUPlus software still achieves a good throughput speed using a compressed, bi-directional data transfer. HF email works perfectly fine with pure text messages and even small pictures under 100K.
